Manchester United 1 - 0 Arsenal

The battle to get to the top of the Barclays Premier League heated up tonight, right now there are 4 arguably 5 teams in the race with nobody wanting to slip up. Tonight saw Manchester United against Arsenal with either team being the victor going to that number 1 spot.

Not the worst football match this season but by no means the best, the first half was largely uneventful with only a couple of chances at each end until 41 minutes when Park Ji-Sung scored a goal that looked pretty similar to the wonder header scored earlier on in the season by Javier Hernandez.

The second half saw Arsenal having a lot of possession and should have equalized through Marouane Chamakh but didn’t. Not long after that the ball was up the other end with Nani causing problems only to fire over with Wayne Rooney in the middle with practically an open goal. Lets just say that Mr.Rooney wasn’t happy, if he was closer to Nani I think he may have decked him.

Arsenal looked to take advantage of their possession by brining on their talismanic figure Cesc Fabregas came on for Tomas Rosicky and then we saw Jack Wilshere leave the pitch for Robin Van Persie.

The Chilean minors that were in attendance looked like they were having a great time unlike Wayne Rooney who in the closing stages of the game, blazed a penalty over after Clichy handled the ball in the area. Walcott then came on to try and spice things up for the Gunners and missed a volley as he was leaning back after being on the pitch for a few minutes.

5 minutes from the end of the game saw veteran Ryan Giggs come on for Anderson but all in all a good win for Manchester United who are now sitting pretty at the top of the league with a game in hand. 1-0 to the Red Devils. Man U look forward now to their next game which is against not the easiest of games, Chelsea. This game had 1-0 all over it from the start in my opinion.
